Maureen Denise McCormick, the only daughter of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father taught in the school system and her mother was a stay-at-home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin is her three elder siblings. McCormick always enjoyed performing, dancing and performing performances with puppets. Her rise to fame as a fairytale started when she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6. This led to a call from the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired if she would like to be in show business. McCormick landed her first major work in 1964, when she appeared in a TV commercial featuring Mattels newest doll Baby Pattaburp. In the year that followed, she appeared in a second commercial on television for Chatty-Cathy's doll. The following year, McCormick was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of Wind It up and It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the youngest daughter of the trio of towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a new blended family. The show lasted for five seasons. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice released in 2008, McCormick revealed that during the shows fifth season she nearly lost her virginity to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. The actress was only 16 when she was in the scene while he was. The woman said it might have been possible, but it was never the best moment to make the decision.
